One To One Sessions

I originally talked to Emma about weight loss. As I have got older it has been harder and harder to keep my weight down. I also have an under-active thyroid which makes it even harder, or that was my excuse anyway. I found that filling in the questionnaire that Emma sent me before our sessions began helped to focus my mind on what I wanted from these sessions.  I worked with Emma once a week for about three months, I looked forward to my sessions each week, it was never a burden. I decided that my goal would be to lose two to three stones.
 I had never come across EFT or tapping before but I was willing to give anything a go. Each session we would talk for a while about what was going on in my life and head. We also talked about my relationship with food and what causes me to overeat. For example when I was young food was often used as a reward or to show love which eventually led me to use food as a weapon against people and myself. I often don’t like myself very much especially after over eating. I also discovered that boredom is a big trigger for me to grab an ice cream or some peanuts. I also seem to suffer from a lack of self-esteem and hate the way I look.
EFT and tapping helped me to discover that even though I may dislike myself for something that I’ve done or my reaction to something that has been done to me, or just sad life circumstances, I can still accept myself.
I found tapping very soothing, even though at first I found it difficult to remember the sequence. Emma helped me with this by going over it with me each session. Now if I feel stressed I can use tapping to calm myself even if I am not somewhere that I could say the words out loud for example a waiting room. I use it in the car sometimes if I feel annoyed by other drivers, it is has a real calming effect on me.
I absolutely love the hypnotic recordings that Emma gave me to listen to, they feel-tailor made for me and my situation. I used to listen to them each night alternating the three recordings. I don’t listen to them every night now but listen to them when I feel the need, I found listening at night worked for me but sometimes listen during the day as well. They are very soothing and made me think more about the type of food I was eating and buying at the supermarket.
Emma gave me lots of tips along the way such as books to read, websites to visit, videos to watch and practical tips to avoid over eating. ‘Look after yourself’ and ‘I am loveable’ were my favourite recordings. The ‘Weight loss’ recording is very affirming and helped me to stay on track during my day to day life.
The sessions and recordings combined have helped me to stay focused on losing weight. They helped me make changes to my life style which have become part of my life.
We also had one session which focused on shoulder pain that I was having at the time. The pain started to lift quite quickly and has not returned. I feel that the same techniques Emma used for my weight loss also helped this pain to go away. I feel it was due to the release of tension, stress and old memories.
I was 82.2 kg when I started the sessions with Emma I am now 72.6kg, so I still have a way to go to reach my goal but that’s not a problem as I have Emma’s tools to fall back on when I need them. I am feeling healthier more energetic and love it when people comment on my weight loss. I can thoroughly recommend these sessions to anyone who wants to lose weight and has struggled to do so before – Jan


At 37 years old I thought it time to finally get my driving license. Twenty years ago I had, had a few lessons and failed the theory test, so I just gave up. Three months ago I started the process again, this time I passed my theory test and my lessons were going ok. However, each time I was due to go for a lesson I would feel anxious, worried and actually scared about getting into the car. After speaking to Emma, she sent me a bespoke driving test hypnotherapy recording and I genuinely believe that it is what helped me pass my test. Each night, before bed for two weeks I would listen to the recording and when I next had a lesson I felt calmer and much more relaxed. After even the first time listening, I noticed a difference in my attitude to driving and passing my test. And pass I did!
